Forgive me for presuming you're not local.

My husband's a McCallum. However, there are quite a number of names included in his family tree: McCallum in Kilbirnie; McKinnon, Keary, Rabey, Logan, Gordon, Cunningham in Dalry; Hunter, Cochrane in Beith are just a few.

I'm quite busy, but I'll help however I can. Just some of the resources available locally which I can access freely:

Burial records - if you reckon someone was buried in Kilbirnie, Dalry, Beith, Kilwinning, Salcoats, Ardrossan and surrounding areas, all I need is the date of death and name. Once I locate their burial record I can find where they're buried and who with.

The cemeteries in Kilbirnie are in quite good condition if you want a note of inscriptions.

LDS and other sites are very good, however, actual photocopies of census returns are obviously more accurate - I can check these out for you.

There are loads of local books around for more information. The library's my favourite place - just give me an idea of what you're looking for.
