Hi,
I also have Goldies in Ayrshire. Sarah Goldie (my 3rd great-grandmother)
married James Rutherford 31 December 1850 in Kirkmichael. Sarah died in
1852 (in Ayr), just after her first son (also James Rutherford) was born.
I don't have a lot of other details of Sarah but the Goldie name has
continued through the Rutherford generations (now in New Zealand).
I'm not sure if there is any connection - but will watch this link with
interest to see if anyone else has Goldie information.
Regards,
Donna

Hello Bob,
I have Goldies in Ayrshire. Hugh Goldie married Elizabeth Kay in June 1786
(in Auchinleck I think - very near Catrine) and produced 4 daughters (there
may have been more children including sons but I haven't found them yet).
Daughters were:
Douglass (definitely a girl) born about 1787
Jean 1790
Margaret 1804
Elizabeth 1809 (my G-grandmother)
I don't suppose you can connect but it is worth trying. I'll watch out for
Cecilia now I know about her.
Best wishes,
Mary
