Prior to page 55, there is a gap of several years. This occurred after
the well beloved minister at Fenwick, William Guthrie, was forcibly
removed from his living there, and ultimately executed for his
beliefs.

The qlk day compeared Jonet Wilsone and confessed her sin in fornican
with Robert Baird now in Ireland The sd Jonet is ordained to come to
the publik place of Repentanc nixt Sabb

The qlk day Alexr Kelso being cited the third tym compeared but denys
yet his fornican upon the denyall Arcbald Cuthbertsone being examined
a witness declaires that Alexr Kelso sd in his hearing that caire hee
would tak with the chyld that she had brought forth, James Miller
being examined a witness declaired the same, also that Alexr sd hee
had cast a knot on her baill that all her ?m sould not loose since
they would not let her marie him

the congrigan the nixt Sabbath and ther to be redie to give the oath
they did compear the woman grants her fall hee denyes the minister
forbeares to take his oath looking on him as and obdured man not in a
capasitie to give his oath

The qlk day being cited compeared Edwart Hemphill and confesses his
fornican with Jonet Miller now his spouse also hee is acused of
adulterie with Jean Smith in his first wyf her tyme the upire accusan
hee denyes Therefore the Sess spoints Robert Patoun to be cited a
witnes

The qlk day Thomas Bogll gave in a testificat of his civill bepavis
during his abod in Glasgow subt by two Elders

The qlk day being cited compeared Isobell Cuthbertsone & Confessed her
fornican with John Cuthbertsone and obleidges her self to satisfie
thee Civill Mag

Sess Feby 9 1674

The qlk day compeared Jonet Tanahill and confessed her fornican with
John Gemill (now deceased) and is apointed to come to the publik place
of repentance the nixt Sabb and obledges her self to satisfie the
Civill Mag

The qlk day the elders being few in number they pitch ? the persons
folowing to take pairt of the chairy with them in the oversight of the
congrigation The Laird of Rowallane yongr John Gemill in dalsraith

Guthrie till the day forsaid

The qlk day Alexr Kelso being cited for the sinne of fornication with
Elspeth Hwie denyed that hee fell with her but confessed that hee was
in terms of mariage with her at that tyme

The qlk day it is ordained that persons that are to be proclaimed for
mariage consign mony and not hou? obhers to be caution for them also
that they take heed to their ocher cariage at their weding feast not
exceeding the number of fourtie persons acording ane former act under

The qlk day John Mathie now resideidor in the Grie & Cathrine Byrns
his spouse gave in their cetificat that they wer mas? Krk of ochterkow
within the ?ressdome of Perth daited the 29 of Nov 1662 sub by the
minister and the crk of Sess also ane certificat from the minister off
Dalrye upon they had their residenc sevrall years without any publick
scandall till the 4 of april 1672

in fornication befor their mariag the one with the other and are
appointed to come to the publick place the nixt Sabbath as also

fornican first wit Isobell Cutbertsone and nixt wit Elspet Dunlop now
