Hi Phyllis,
I have four Thomas Stirrat's in my data base all of the same family in Stevenston.

The latest Thomas is born 1877 to James Cruikshank Stirrat, son of Thomas Stirrat and Isabella SCOTT.

James Cruikshank Stirrat married Jean LOVE, daughter of Alexander LOVE and Ann FREW, 1875 Stevenston.

I haven't yet researched the children of James and Jean, so can't offer anything more on Thomas, but his birth date appears to be in the right time frame for a marriage and a child born 1904.
