Thanks Margaret. I dont see any connections on my side with your Elizabeth Wylllie. Re Robina Bain - yes Agnes Bain was her sister. This is what I have re this family - there is a Campbell connection so I'd be interested if you see any links:
John WYLLIE & Margaret CAMPBELL married 24 Jul 1803 in Kilmarnock - I believe these 2 are the parents of Robina WYLIE b abt 1816 (based on Robina's Death certificate, however I cannot find a birth record for Robina, or any other children of these 2 under either WYLLIE or WYLIE) who married Archibald BAIN 22 Aug 1834 in Kilmarnock (note her name is recorded as RABINA at Scotlandspeople.gov.org). Archibald was a Block Printer by trade. 1881 Census - they were living at 65 Low Glencairn St Kilmarnock. Children were Agnes age 25, unmarried, Millworker, born Kilmarnock; Archibald, age 22, Salesman (Draper), born Kilmarnock; and a Grandson Mathew aged 11. As Robina was married she was clearly living somewhere else. Also living elsewhere was another son George Young Bain who was at Dundonald Road, Gowan Rd, Rosebank with his wife and children. He was aged 41, a Draper Silk Mercer & Clothier - most likely his younger brother Archibald was working for him.
Robina BAIN (Snr) died in 1891 in Kilmarnock, at 63 Low Glencairn St and her husband Archibald died in 1893 also in Kilmarnock, also at 63 Low Glencairn St.
The record I have of a Margaret WYLLIE being born was on 12 MAr 1804 at Markinch to Alexander WYLLIE and Margaret CAMPBELL (so another Campbell connection!) but there were no other children that I can find - among snippets of family history i have a birthday for my Margaret WYLIE of 12 mar 1804 (but no supporting evidence), a sister named Robina Bain and other sisters, possible step sisters, named Agnes & Mary.
So can we make anything of all that?!
regards
Craig
