Hello Mike

Lorraine sent me from the 1881 census a Jane Boyd W 76 born in Glasgow
Jack had sent me back in Apr a Janet/Jane/Jean Spiers Boyd 36 b Glasgow. on
1851census. Their son Robert was 7 on 1851 census & 36 on 1881 which is about
right. So something is wrong. Jane couldn't jump 40 years in 30...or could
she?

Yes, Jane was a widow (of JOHN BOYD) in 1861). According to the 1851 census
JOHN 40 & JAMES BOYD 52 were born in Ireland ? JAMES was married to an
AGNES, but I don't know her maiden name. These BOYDS seem to be my family because
on 1861 census several GRAYS were living with JANE BOYD in CALTON, GLASGOW.
(My ancestors are JAMES & MARY (BOYD) GRAY. So JOHN & JAMES seem to be her
brothers. I wish I knew more members of the family.

I wish I knew just where in Canada the BOYDS/GRAYS settled. I thought when
I was young it was Nova Scotia, but when I checked Ontario, that seemed a
possibility. I don't know their names . I thought Robert & James Boyd & James
& Robert Gray were the ones, but with the info I have above
It may have been someone else. I don't have a list of JAMES & AGNES BOYDS
children. They were in their 50's on the 1851 census.

I'll have to read more of your E-Mail to see if I can find a connection.
Thanks for telling me about researchers of BOYD name. That would be great if
there is a connection.

I have copies of your lists of BOYDS that you just sent & I'll keep for
reference.

Thanks
