Hi Stephanie
I have a similar situation with the 2 surnames.
In my case the mother was previously married.
Could it be that Agnes/ Margaret Young was a widow when she meet David Blair ?
If i were you i would be looking for a previous marriage between Agnes/ Margaret Young and ? Fulton.
The 2 different forenames is most likely just what ever she preferred to be known as.
I would guess at her being Margaret but probably went by 'Aggie' rather than 'Maggie' for short, therefore it would be natural for someone to assume her name was Agnes.
These are only suggestions but hopefully they will be helpful.
Good luck
Deborah

Also, can anyone suggest why a baptism OPR (for two children, born 8
years apart) would describe a mother as "Agnes or Margaret Young or
Fulton"? How can you not be sure of the Mum?
We do have a possible marriage for a David BLAIR/Agnes YOUNG in Dreghorn
in 1774, also the death cert of one of the children gives the mother as
"m/s YOUNG".
