thanks for the info.
I did have some of it already but not all.
I guess my problem is that I can't prove that my John is this John borm to Hugh Douglas and Mary Wilson- it's a good chance.
My John died in 1853 so I can't even get a death record.
Somewhere or somehow I might find a record in my travels-
I know he is buried in Stair Churchyard so maybe the church records but haven't got a clue how to get them.
I think I'll put out a message and see what I get back.
