thanks very much Julie- great information- actually gives me another place to hunt fo his birth record.
Could you please look up Janet Brown wife of John Douglas- died Nov 29 1876 and is buried in the Stair Churchyard.
and if I could be a pain
McCatney Boyd died 19 jan 1854 and wife Isabella Douglas died 23march 1878- they are buried in Stair churchyard as well.
Quite a few of John Douglas and Janet Brown's children are bured in Stair or Ochiltree except of course my GG Grandparents- they are in Newton Green.
