The qlk day compeired Archbald Holmes challenged for saboth breking by gathering dung from off his neighbouris land and taking it to his own dunghill 2 for saying he sould mak Robert Millars bairnes so as they sould nether die nor mend and not buy his hand on them 3 that they did nevir wed who wer out wt him And that he let ther beasts dye in dyk gutters that wer out wt him

Qlk challenges he denyes in wholle.

The qlk day compeired Robert Miller, Thomas Gemmell Bessie Morton, Robert Wight witnesses be against the said Archbald Holmes, who excepting against the said Robert Miller he being set from being ane witnes, the rest wer sworne and admittit.

Robert Wight called, proved the first point in sabboth breking bot knew nothing of the other tuo

Thomas Gemmell proved the 2 and 3 point bot said he knew nothing of the first point.

Bessie Mortone proved the first point bot clensed the said Archbald of the other tuo points.

The qlk day compeired Robert Gemmell trouper confessed his fornicatioun wt Bessie Connell the sd Bessie compeiring also confessed And wer ordained both of them to stand three sabboth dayes in the publick place and to pay conforme to the act of the generall assembly anno 1648.

The qlk day Robert Boyd in cuikstone called & compeiring not, ordained to be sudmondit pro tertio

Thomas Neill in rawis ordained to be sudmondit pro tertio

The qlk day compeired Johne Gemmell and Bessie Boyd witnesses be against Thomas Neill and being sworne, deponed each of them after ane other, that they saw the sd Thomas Neill lying wt ane uncouth woman only besyd her on the ground bot in no suspitious way and that they know not the sd Thomas be drunken qrupon it was thought good to rebuik him only befoir the session.

The qlk day compeired Thomas Neill, Robert Finley, and Johne Neill witness be against Archbald Holmes, who all of them provis the 3 point of his challenge, bot clenges him of the other tuo: whose depositiounes & probatiouns being complired wt the probatiounes of the former witness in the session 19 of Julii was decernit that the said Archbald sould stand tuo sabboths and pay conforme to order.
