Subject: [AYR] Jean Hamilton in Kilmarnock

Hi all,
In 1802, Jean HAMILTON and John Mushet were married in Kilmarnock,
date 29th August 1802. They had a son, James Wallace Mushet born 21
Aug 1804, noted as their first child (and the only one I've found).
John was at this point a nailer.
I have quite a bit on the Mushets, and John's parents were James
Mushet and Janet Adam. However I have no clues as to who Jean
Hamilton was. The name 'Wallace' may come from her side - there's no
trace of it that I've found in John Mushet's family.
Unfortunately the marriage record is not informative, saying only
that 'John Mushet & Jean Hamilton both in this parish after
proclamation were married'.
There's a Jean Hamilton born in Irvine in 1782, various others
scattered around - if anybody has any information on any Jean
Hamiltons of the right era, please let me know as I may be able to
rule some out... Any clues welcome!
Jenny
