It is not exactly true that all people of Hispanic heritage marked their
loved one's grave with a plain cross. I have found markers of all sorts in
Hispanic sections of cemeteries. Many are well marked and well maintained.
Some are unmarked and yet still well maintained by the family members who
know what individual is buried there.(They apparently feel that none else
needs to know as long as they do.) Many homemade markers did not stand the
test of time and corroded away. As a whole I would say that most modern day
Hispanic people do a good job maintaining their ancestors graves. The
Catholics celebrate "All Saints Day" as well as "The Day of The Dead". They
also visit relatives graves on other special occasions and clean up around
the graves. I think that one reason you see so many unmarked crosses etc is
that in the early days the Hispanic population was on the lower economic
scale and many could not afford granite headstones. JUST MY TWO CENTS WORTH

their graves with nothing but a cross. I worked one cemetery near where I
live and there must be over 100 graves in there and maybe 20 marked. Unless
someone kept track of who was buried where I doubt that you will find what
you are looking for. They took a plot and buried the person and since the
cemetery didn't really belong to anyone, there were no records kept.
