Hi:
I live in southeastern BC, Canada but would like to visit Arizona some day.

My interest in this site was to find the grave of one of our local
"characters" who is buried in Wickenburg, AZ - thanks to help from here I
have three lovely photos of his grave. This man wandered into this area in
1931, lived on two ranches and literally climbed in a boat about 1960 and
left as mysteriously as he appeared. While he was here he was a character
so when he left he left a lot of stories behind - some true, some pure
fiction but still possible if you knew him. I remember him from when I was
a child and grew up on all the old stories but in the last few years I have
been trying to sort the fact from the fiction and record the stories so they
will not be lost. This man was pure "Wild Old West" but like the cacti that
mark his final resting place I have discovered he was prickly on the outside
and soft on the inside but only his friends knew it.

Through this group I have managed to track down where he lived the last 10
years of his life, near Morristown and hope to visit there some day too.
Until I get there I enjoy reading every post and finding each location
mentioned on a map so you are all teaching me Arizona Geography.

I want to thank you, each and every one of you, for what you are doing.

If any of you are interested in the story of my old character please feel
free to email me off list. I will leave you with my observation that his
trail seemed to be tied to Highway 93 for at least 40 years and it ended
like Hwy. #93 in Wickenburg - if you want to see where he lived in this area
follow #93 north to where it crosses the US - Canada border and a bit more
to where it intersects Hwy. #3 in BC, that was where he owned his first
ranch up here.

Thank you for your interesting posts.

Heather
