From the book, Cochise Stalwarts by Lynn R Bailey and Don Chaput published
in 2000;
Charles L Cummings, located in Tombstone on May 25, 1880 where he was
connected with the Tombstone Mill & Mining Company for four years.
Subsequently he was foreman of the waterworks at Charleston for three and a
half years. For a number of years he was president of First National Bank
of Tombstone and was instrumental in that institution weathering the
depression of 1907. He retired from business in 1914 and died at Tombstone,
on November 30, 1930.
I do not have anything else, this information was gathered because a
Margaret Cummings who sold property located at 211 Toughnut Street,
Tombstone to my grandparents, Simon and Minnie Lindly. This Margaret was
most likely a descendant of Charles L. Cummings, a daughter perhaps?
Charles, Margaret and other Cummings are buried at the Tombstone Cemetery.
I go there frequently to clean my grandparents graves, if you would like I
can look for the Cummings gravesites. This link will take you to a listing
of those buried in Tombstone.
