Subject: {not a subscriber} where to get obits?
> Greetings,
I am not on this mail list, but I am hoping to get assistance from
some knowledgeable researcher in the Phoenix area. My mother resides
in Phoenix several months a year and she has volunteered to lookup a
couple of obituaries while she's in the warmer climate. The obits are
both from the 1990s and apparently both relatives lived in Phoenix (or
the surrounding area). I'm not really interested in death
certificates. It would to nice to understand the best source for
looking up obits.
Is there a necrology index for the Phoenix area? I have the specific
dates, but such indexes usually point to a specific
newspaper/date/page#.
Where can one find newspapers or microfilm (presumably one of the
libraries or the newspaper itself)? What are the larger newspapers for
Phoenix?
Thanks.
