Laurence J. Hawley

Laurence J. "Larry" Hawley passed away on Aug. 1, 2000 at the Kaiser Permanent Hospital in Vallejo, at the age of 64.

Larry was born in Phoenix, Arizona on Dec. 28, 1935 and lived his early years in the Phoenix area and his high school years in Kerman and Tranquillity. He entered the US Air Force after high school graduation resulting in eight years enlistment. Larry was a member of the Teamsters. He was general manager for Truck-A-Way Company for many years and also a truck drive in Lange Trucking in Oakland. He was a prior resident of Vacaville and had been living in Winters.

He is survived by his wife Carol of Winters, his children Robert Andrew Hawley of Florida, Tina Crow of American Canyon, Diana Runnels of Gusting; five brothers, George Hawley of Fresno, Manuel Hawley of Vista, David Hawley of Joshua Tree, George Brown of Vacaville, and Eldon Brown of Turlock; several grandchildren, Amber Gonzales, Joey Keola, Christopher Crow, Matthew Hawley, Kristina Keola, Drew Hawley and Lindsey Hawley; one great-grandson, Siah Keola and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends were invited to a visitation at the Smith's Colonial Chapel, 14 Main Street, Winters, on Friday, Aug. 4 from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral services were held on Saturday, Aug. 4, at 11:30 a.m. in the Colonial Chapel. Military Honors were rendered. Private cremation will be held at a later date.
