Hi Cheryl - I prefer to respond to queries at this site so other researchers can benefit as well. I don't retain research once I've done what I can so it's best left posted on the net.
Regarding your email of 2-27-2002 here is what is found in the 1931 Phoenix City directory for the surname
"GEORGOUSES". Page 281, right column, is "Georgouses Jas (James)(Martina)(spouse) (Busy Bee Cafe)(employer) h (head of household - indicates there may children under age 18 present at that address) 1801 N 10th (residence)". Next is "Georgouses John C (Thelma E) (Busy Bee Cafe) h 1021 E Indian School rd". Third is "Georgouses Pete G (Mary) cook (occupation) Busy Bee Cafe h 300 W Osborn rd". Finally, "Georgouses Tony (Busy Bee Cafe) r (rooms/rents at that location) 801 N 4th".
There is also a spelling variant to the "GEORGOUSES" name in the directory. On page 566, middle column, is "GeorgEuses (instead of "o") Peter Mrs rt 8 bx 96 (residence address - a Rural Post Route [Route 8, Box 96] in Central Phoenix)".
Hopefully your Dad will recognize some of the names, particularily the spouses if it's his line. You might also consider going to Mapquest.com and printing out a map of the residence locations so he can refresh his memory as to where they lived with his historical recollection of the City of Phoenix, including the location of the Busy Bee.
If this is his line, they will undoubtedly be in the upcoming 1930 census which will of course include children's names and perhaps those of an older generation possibly living with them.
Good luck.
