In searching the obit index of the Mesa, Arizona Public Library, as well as their collection of Phoenix City Directories, I found no trace of Cullen VAN LOON. However, I did find the obit for Sgt. Frank C. VAN LOON, Jr. He was the son of Frank and Margaret VAN LOON. I found the obits of Frank, Sr. and Margaret, as well as another son, John Gerard VAN LOON. Frank Sr. was born in Haarlemmerliede, Holland. Other children and relatives are mentioned in the obits. All these people were born in Holland, and it appears that the family came to the US in about 1956. These were the only VAN LOON names listed in the obit index.

The 1957 Phoenix City Directory lists:
Ernest J. VAN LOON, wife Edna, 2 children at home--emp US Govt, 5215 N. 33nd St, Phoenix.
