In the 1920 Census, for Maricopa County, Pheonix, Arizona there is:

Moody, Paul H., head, 40 yrs old, widowed, born OK, father born: North Carolina, mother born: Alabama, occupation: Boiler Maker/Railroad Shop
Moody, Joe, son, 14 yrs old, single, born OK, father: Alabama, mother: North Carolina
Moody, Chloe, daughter, 13 yrs old, single, born TX, father: Alabama, mother: North Carolina

Well at least this is the way the census has it recorded. If you will notice, the birth places for the children's parents do not match up with where their father says he was born. Another adventure is Census land.

I also have Moody's in my family but they came from Maine in the 1830's and before, my branch ended up in Nebraska. My gggrandmother was Mehitable Moody who married first David Gilman Jr. and then married Able Ware Gilman, her father was Edward Moody and mother Betsy Weymouth.
