Message Board Post:

In the early 1960s, my parents arranged for nanny/baby-sitting duties.
A friend of my Mom (Betty Sheeker) was able to get two Native American
girls to travel from their home town in the Southwestern part of the
U.S. to Avalon, Catalina Island, California for the summer to baby-sit
my brother and I while my parents worked. I recall that this lasted for
3 summers in which my Mom became quite attached to one of the Indian
girls.

The only information I have is that one of the girls, who baby-sat my
brother and I, had the first name of Barbara. In fact, we still refer
to the room she stayed in as Barbara's Room. I believe she belonged to a
tribe in Arizona, possibly in the Tucson area, but I am not sure about
that. My Mom, Gloria Hayes has inquired about Barbara's whereabouts for
quite some time with no luck. I realize this is not much to go on, but
your help to locate Barbara would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Steve Hayes
