I'm looking for the family of Erasmus BABBITT Jr. I don't know where he
was born, but he was an attorney in MA for some years. He m. Mary
SAUNDERS and they had 3 children: Mary Eliza, b. 1793 in MA; Winthrop;
and Augustus.

It is said that Mary SAUNDERS had blood ties with the Sargents,
Winthrops, and Saltonstalls; that she had a ready wit and abounding good
spirits, and a talent for mimicry; and possessed an endless ambition—a
drive that eventually made her despair of ErasmusÂ’ frivolities and small
fees. In 1810 she moved with her children to Boston.

Their daughter, Mary Eliza BABBITT, m. Elkanah CUSHMAN in Boston on 18
Oct 1815. Their children were Charlotte Saunders (1816-1876); Charles
Augustus (1818- ); Fitz Henry (1820-1821); Susan Webb (1822-c. 1860);
and Augustus Babbitt (1825-1836).

If you have any information on the life and times of Erasmus BABBITT
Jr., his parents and/or siblings, I'd be pleased to exchange information
with you. I have a huge amount of CUSHMAN data that I'll be pleased to
share.
