We're looking for "Male" living descendants of Joseph and Charity Babcock c.1760-1850, Rockland County to participate in a DNA Surname project. If anyone out there knows of living Babcocks in the Stony Point / Haverstraw / Ramapo area please ask them to reply to this email. We'll try to help them determine if they are descendants of Joseph and Charity Babcock c.1760-1850, Rockland County, NY.

Thank you!

Bob Babcock

I don’t know of any living Babcocks descended from Joseph. The closest I have are:

> Walter H Babcock b1918 d1989 http://www.weareallkin.info/getperson.php?personID=I3914&tree=FT

> Walter Harrison Babcock b1899 d1986 http://www.weareallkin.info/getperson.php?personID=I3905&tree=FT

> Radford Babcock b1867 d1940 http://www.weareallkin.info/getperson.php?personID=I3929&tree=FT

> John Nelson Babcock b1928 d1989 in Richmond VA http://www.weareallkin.info/getperson.php?personID=I4075&tree=FT

I do not have obits on any of these men. The first three probably died in Rockland County and so I can look up their obits (if published) relatively easy. At this point I do not know if they have any male descendents. The first two are through Joseph’s son Matthias (b1806 d1889) and the second are through his son Domine/Dominic (b1812 d aft 1880). If we could find one from each line (Mathias and Dominic) that would be additionally helpful.

Brian
