Hannah Mallott is not in my line, but the Daniel Badger who married her may have been the son of Gideon Badger, b. in Norwich, CT, in 1723, the son of Daniel Badger and Sarah Roath. Daniel moved his family to Union, CT, by 1754, when and where Gideon married Mary Dodge, according to town records. In 1769, Daniel died, and Gideon executed a quitclaim to his estate (for 20 pounds), declaring "Know that I, Gideon Badger of the city of Westminster in Cumberland County" (Vermont), filed in the records of the Probate Court of Connecticut in Stafford. In 1775, he served as a private in a Vermont regiment which apparently marched to Cambridge, Mass., following the Call of the 19th of April. "Soon after returning from Cambridge he moved to Putney, and he was called husbandman, of Putney, on 14 November 1776 when he and his wife Mary sold land in that town. He is listed in the 1791 census of Brattleboro, Vermont, heading a household consisting of himself, one other male over 16 y!
ears of age, four boys under 16 years and five females." NEHGS Register, Vol. 150, p. 336
