Rude? Someone was rude?

People get on and off these lists all the time for any number of reasons.
But if you feel that it's my fault that someone has abandoned this list, I
shall be happy to be the next.

Sherri, since you have hundreds if not thousands of couples listed on your
website, I'm not surprised that you were able to find one (1) example of a
man marrying a substantially older woman pre-Civil War. Now if you can find
ten (again, keeping in mind the size of the overall sample from which you
draw), I shall stand corrected.

I have one of my own -- my great great grandfather Simon Strayer, in 1841,
married a woman who, depending on how you read the crumbling marble on her
tombstone, was either six or nine years older.... but what I have noticed
about that circumstance, as I have studied literally thousands of other
families, is its very exceptional nature.
