Johnson Bane and his ancestors might provide a link. All I know about them is
below. Note especially the sources: Cowart and others have a lot of
information on the Bane family in the Carolinas.

Bane, Margaret Andrews and husband Ben Andrews, Riley Bane, Sarah Hart and
husband Richard Hart, Mary Batson, Polly Holcum and husband Jordan Holcum,
Mary P. Austin and husband W.H. Austin, Bowen Bane, Rebecca Bane, Sarah Bane,
Riley Bane, Elvina Bane, Johnson Bane, Francis Bane and husband Melville

The defendants above named if they be found in your county to appear at the
office of the Superior Court Clerk County of Henderson at the courthouse at
Hendersonville on the 21st of December 1872 and answer the complaint of
plaintiff and let them take notice that if they fail to answer the said
complaint within the time by law prescribed the plaintiff will apply to the
court for the relief demanded in the said complaint here of fail not and of
this summons make due return.
