This is a minor edit of my request of a few months ago. Since the group
gets repopulated after a while, it’s worth posting again. Any bites?

Looking for descendants and ancestors information on the following
Beards/Bairds, originating in Tydavnet Parish, Monaghan county, Ireland,
with three of the first descendants settling in Manvers, Ontario, Canada
in the late 1830s and early 1840s. I have extensive data for Humphrey
and his direct line to me, but sparse data elsewhere. Send responses to

David Beard b 1766 lived in Allagesh, Tydavnet parish, Monaghan county,
Ireland. Married Jane, maiden surname unknown, born 1772. Their children
were:

A) Joseph Beard b 1799. No further data known to me.

B) John Beard b March 13, 1802. Immigrated to Manvers by 1844. Changed
his surname to Baird in the 1881 census. Married in Ireland to Mary Ann,
b May 10, 1811 in Ireland, maiden surname unknown. I believe that both
John and Mary Ann lived in Manvers until their deaths. Their children may
be known by either Baird or Beard surname, and were:

* David Baird b 1828 in Ireland. Married Margaret, maiden surname
unknown, b 1829 in Canada. They had at least one child, Mary Jane b 1851
in Manvers
* Joseph Beard b June 4 1834 in Ireland
* Elizabeth Beard b June 12 1837 in Ireland
* George Beard b Feb 15 1839 in Ireland
* James Beard b Jul 18 1840 in Ireland
* Charlotte Beard b November 6 1840 in Ireland or Manvers
* John Beard Jr., b December 14, 1845 in Manvers
* David Beard b 1847 in Manvers. Married Francis, maiden surname
unknown, b 1849. Changed their surname to Baird in the 1881 census.
* Margaret Beard b Aug 9 1847 in Manvers.
* Mary Ann Beard b January 5 1849 in Manvers
* Thomas Beard b 1854 in Manvers. Married Mary, maiden surname unknown, b
1852. They had two children: Henrietta b 1874 in Manvers and Maggie M. b
1878 in Manvers. Thomas and Mary changed their surname to Baird in the
1881 census.

C) Charles Beard b 1803. No further data known to me.

D) Humphrey Beard b March 4, 1805. Immigrated to Manvers by 1840. Changed
his surname to Baird in the 1851 census. Married probably in Ireland to
Jane Plewes, b November 14, 1821 in Ireland. Died Jan. 24, 1890. Jane
died Jan. 28, 1903. Both are buried in Grand Bend, Ontario. Their
children were:

* David Baird b September 8 1841 in Manvers
* Susan Baird b December 20 1842 in Manvers. Susan Married twice, first
to a Mr. Webb, then a Mr. Thom and lived in Grand Bend, Ontario.
* William Baird b December 23, 1844 in Toronto. Married Catherine
McRoberts in 1868 and after Catherine’s death in 1880, married Susan
Whiting in 1882. Seven children born in Parkhill, Ontario survived to
maturity: Mary Jane b 11/11/68, Melissa A b 7/7/70, Emma Florence b
5/13/73, Stella Maude b 6/19/76, William Russell b 8/16/83, Edna Gladys b
9/8/87, and Myrel Fidelia b 11/14/95.
* James Baird b July 26 1846 in Manvers. Married Elizabeth, maiden
surname unknown, and had five children: Elizabeth, Jennifer, Thomas,
David and John. David had a son James.
* An Jane Baird b June 7 1847 in Manvers
* Sarah Baird b April 21 1849 in Manvers
* Elizabeth Baird b October 25 1850 in Manvers

E) Robert Beard b 1808. No further data known to me.

F) Ann Jane Beard b 1810. No further data known to me.

G) Archibald Beard b 1813. Immigrated to Manvers by 1836. Changed his
surname to Baird in the 1851 census. Married (location unknown) Jane,
surname unknown, b 1821 in England. No data known after 1851. Their
children as of 1851 were:

* David Baird b 1844 in Manvers.
* William Baird b 1845 in Manvers
* Joseph Baird b 1847 in Manvers
* Dorothy Jane Baird b 1849 in Manvers
* John Baird b 1851 in Manvers
