Lucy,

I found a biography on William Elbert Prowell in the Caldwell County, Kentucky History
book that says Sarah Baird was married to James Prowell. Here is an abstract that
pertains to Sarah and James. I can email the complete biography if anyone is interested.

WILLIAM ELBERT PROWELL

Joseph Thomas was a son of David (born 1834 in Tennessee and died October 1868 in
Kentucky) and Cynthia E. McDowell Prowell who were married February 22, 1856.

David was a son of James (born 1798 in Tennessee, died before 1870) and Sarah Baird
Prowell (born 1816 in Virginia). They left Smith County, Tennessee around 1849 and moved
to Crittenden County, Kentucky.

James was a son of Thomas and Sarah Roper Prowell. They had at least three other
children: Mary "Polly", 1790; Martha Jane, February 16, 1796, and David, 1805.
