Hey gang!

I had lunch with Commissioner Powell (FCC) a couple of weeks ago and asked about this issue. He said that while the telcos have asked repeatedly for the authority to charge Message Units for local access internet calls, the FCC hasn't bought the idea. This is an issue that is not anywhere near the top of the list of items FCC is interested in.
You already pay toll rates if your internet service provider is not a local phone call.
