I'm looking for some Baird's or Beard's in KY. Thought you might be able to
help or pass on to other Beard's / Baird's.

Please let me tell you the story as it has been passed on to the family for
years.

Edward Baird was born 2 Oct 1805, Mongahala County Virginia (Now W.VA).
His family went down the Ohio River on flat boat let's say about 1825 and
split say around Louisville, KY or Evansville, IN. Edward had a twin sister
or brother. The
whole family went to Kentucky and Edward went to Greensburg (Decatur Co.) IN.
Where he married 1829 to Elizabeth Snider.

Now this is all we have, we believe that Edward's fathers name was Edward
also.
The story that has been passed on for years, is that Edward's father was a
Baptist preacher ( a circuit rider) and married a Delaware Indian. We know
nothing about Edward's father or mother.

I have been trying for years to make some kind of connection to the Baird /
Beard
family in Kentucky. Saw your e-mail address dealing with some Baird's and
thought you might help or know something or someone that might tie in with
the Indiana Baird's. My Edward Baird later started signing his name Beard,
this
is the way it has been every since.
