Hello Murna,
Who was Martha's parents?
I had a ( "greater" uncle ) James ( Jim ) Baird who reportedly settled in that area (inside Ky). Or I think it was Jim. I am trying to remember from notes taken, a long time ago, from a conversation with my now deceased Aunt. This Jim would be a decendant of William Baird 1797/1869? and a brother of my great grandmother Elizabeth (Baird) Lay Davis.
My Lay line is connected with some Brooks from around Red Bird Ky, in Whitley County.
And Of course all the Lay/Baird/Stanfill (Stanfield) families of Elk Valley, Tennessee
