MARCUS CAPPS, 61, of LaFollette, died Thursday, August 12, at East Tennessee
Baptist Hospital in Knoxville. He was a Campbell County school teacher for 39
years and taught at West LaFollette Elementary. He was a member Jellico Lodge
#527 F&AM, LaFollette Charter #212 Royal Arch Masons, and former member of
Kentucky Army National Guard. He was preceded in death by parents, Whyte and
Bertha Capps. Survivors include wife, Patsy Smith Capps. Funeral services
were held Friday, August 13 at Cross Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Freeman
and Rev. Mike Smith officiating. Interment followed Saturday, August 14 in
Wells Springs Cemetery.
KATHERINE MCCULLY CLOTFELTER, 75, of LaFollette, died Monday, August 16 at
LaFollette Medical Center. She was preceded in death by parents, Harrison and
Belle McCulley. Survivors include husband, John Clotfelter. Funeral services
were held Wednesday, August 18 at the House of Prayer and Praise Church with
Rev. Charles Lovely officiating. Interment followed in Walters Cemetery.
Cross Funeral Home in charge of arrangments.
ARLIE C. HATFIELD, 68, of Huntsville, died Wednesday, August 11 at Scott
County Hospital in Oneida. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church where he
served as custodian for over 45 years. He was preceded in death by parents,
Willie and Ardila Lawson Hatfield. Survivors include wife Phyllis Hatfield.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 14 at Antioch Baptist Church with
Rev. Asbury Byrd and Rev. Carlie Duncan officiating. Interment followed in
the church cemetery. Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangments.
