Hi Roger:
Our Baird group also take notice.
In your previous post you asked abt.the children of John Baird and Phebe
Ely and if Bedent who was supposed to be their son was related to William
son of Bedent.
I replied that as far as we know John,son of David,and Phebe Ely ,had No
children,and if you could'nt provide documentation,that I would tell you
who this Bedent Baird and Polly Ray was and who their children were and
parents. How abt. that?
David was the third son of Old John and Mary bedient b. 19 OCt.1710.
md. Sarah Compton,They had four children:
Jacob, Mary, John and Capt. David Jr. who had 17 children with three
wives.
NONE were named Bedent,In fact their 4th and 5th sons William and
Zebulon
didn't name any of their children BEDENT either.
The Bedent name comes primarily thru Andrew,oldest son of Old John and
Mary.
#2 son John Jr.has Bedents show up in the next generation.,yhough ,he
didn't name any of his sons Bedent.

Soooo ---let us go to Andrew and check out Bedent.
His oldest son was Bedent md. Hulda and they moved to Jefferson
,Schoharie valley of New York where they lived and did raising eight
children,one of them a Bedent wh o md Sarah Britton and moved on to
Jackson burg,Butler, Co. Ohio where they lived.
(some say the older Bedent went to German Flats, Canada etc.) NOT SO.
I have a copy of his will as proof and a copy of his Father,Andrew's
will.

Now we have to explore other Bedents>
Andrew's son Ezekiel had a Bede nt also.This IS NOT the one either.
He and his brother Samuel went to the Watauga Valley and lived along the
Watauga River.
Samuel also had a son Bedent
NOW ,we hit the jackpot.
Samuel and his family moved on to Sumner Co. Tn. (later Smith Co.)
I have documentation to show who he and Susannah;s children were.
Any way ,to make a long story shorter,they moved on to Spencer Co.
Indiana.
Their children were:
Samuel, William,Ezekiel,Nancy and James.
This Bedent's father ,Samuel, Died 1815 in Smith,Co. Tn.
Roger ,I know who some of your cousins are.

This is enough for now ,and to whet your appetite.
