Went cemetery hopping today in Christian Co., MO. Ended up back at Pem Bina
Cemetery north of Ozark and found what I consider a great find. I found my
gggrandmother's grave. The stone is unreadable so I pulled out the ole
trusty paper and pencil and scribbled til I got a name. She died in 1904,
not 1906 - couldn't make out the month. This is not in the info that I
received from others in the group. She is listed as unknown in the library
records - which is where I spent yesterday. As for her husband,
gggrandfather Lewis Millard Baird, JR, I think he has dropped off the face
of the earth along w/ Joseph. He has been reported to have married Sarah
Guthrie in 1904. She was from Rome, MO, in Douglas County - But there is no
record of this marriage in either Christian or Douglas Country record books.
I went through those yesterday. Does anyone know where LM, Jr. is buried?
Is it around the Ava, Mo. area, which is close to Rome, Mo. Rome is
nothing but a bridge, there is no township there anymore. Also at Pem Bina
were Zeebedee (1877-1973, son of LM, Jr. and Jane) and his two wives Jesse
(1884 -1929) and Lena (1912-1995), a Mary Baird who died of the age of 24
(1908 -1932) - don't know who she belongs to, will have to look it up - and
Queene Baird wife of Ray Baird was there(1901-1926). Some of this info is
correct in things I have received, but some is not. If anyone has any info
about LM, Jr., I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Susan (Baird) Holland
