Dear Tom: and Others
Thank you sooo much for writing.
I corresponded with John C. for a long time even before E- Mail., But i
was always feeding him wrong
information. For 100 years and longer our family had been following the
OLD JOHN BAIRD line from
Scotland to New Jersey 1683 that md.MARY BEDIENT.I myself have followed
that line for nearly 60 years. and have thousands of pages of material. We
hired researchers,Wrote letters.had an active family asscn.,traveled
thousands of miles,(i myself to Scotland,to Ala.where Samuel,my gt.
gd.father lived and raised his family,to Bairds Mill,Mississippi where
William moved from Marion, Ala. by my Gd.gd.
father,Samuel.I visited the church where William (I think was the brother
of Alexander)worshipped and
the cemetery where he was buried.Still following the old John Baird line
hoping they might tie in some place.
But not knowing that they were the sons on John Batte Baird , a different
line.Sooo, I never really pursued
that line too much ,though, through the years ,I kept the papers that I
thought might belong some where.
At Any rate my questions to John C. were always along what We thought was
my line from Old John.
Never NEVER was our family able to find ANY proof of that line tying us
to it. So,I went back to the beginning to see why this had
happened.Well, to make a long story a little shorter,I have now proven
that
we had been side tracked and had been falsely led down the wrong path.
So ,I started putting together all the information and letters from
resarchers and information that i had on
Alexander and William and tied them to John Batte,Benjamin,Rook, and
another John Baird and visited extensively with Bruce Baird, who I
thought I might tie into with the Tatums and brothers James L,Robert,
and John that was with my samuel in Marion, Perry Ala.We found that ,that
was also not my line, but kept
turning to William,Alexander and John Batte,Benjamin etc.I am satisfied
that this is my correct line.
And this discovery after John C. passed away.
Oh-- how I wished I would have known this when he was still alive. Now he
is gone and I know NOT
where his papers are. But I do know he shared all he had that any one
needed or wanted.
So, The bottom line is I just didn't ask the right questions and don't
have it.
This is a long letter to just answer a simple question of yours.
Therefore, I would be most grateful and happy to receive or know anything
that you might have or wish to share.Or if there is anyone else out there
that can help or share ,I would appreciate it very much.
I hope this might help others who might be struggling with thei lines. It
is sooo EASY to get side tracked.
BE CAREFUL OF EVERY THING YOU SEE, ARE TOLD, OR HEAR.OR READ PROVE IT.
Just in case: My snail mail address is:
Fred Baird 1029 E 2570 N. Provo,Utah 84604
I-801 373 2150
Thank you very much for hearing me out.
