Subject: Exporting and Sending GEDCOM Files

We have had some questions expressed in connection with saving and
sending GEDCOM files...
Please always send your file directly to me (the mail list(s) won't
accept attachments) as a GEDCOM file so that I can import and merge it
into Family Tree Maker.
I'm not sure which genealogy program you are using, but there should be
a way to "Save As..." or "Export" to the GEDCOM format. In FTM you
choose "Copy/Export Family File..." and then click on the "Save as
type:" field down arrow to select "GEDCOM (.GED)".
(You can also choose to conceal the identity of living persons, if you
so desire. In FTM this is done by choosing "Privatize File..." under the
"File" menu before exporting.)
Thanks to all, and... KEEP THOSE GEDCOMs COMING!
