I am looking for this Baldwin line for my friend. I wasnt sure how to post
the information so I decided on this way. I apologize in advance if it is

Notes for ISAAC BALDWIN:
Isaac had a daughter and 2 sons before Stephen. It is thought that they all
died because Stephen is the only child mentioned in his will. Isaac gave
Stephen land about 1832.

4. WILLIAM3 BALDWIN (JOHN2, THOMAS1) was born January 01, 1800. He
married NANCY NORRIS, daughter of WILLIAM NORRIS and NANCY.

Notes for WILLIAM BALDWIN:
It was said that William never "blew his top".
There is a story that once during the busy season at the mill he ran
William slipped off squirrel hunting on Sunday morning and cme back by the
chuch just as Nanvy and the children along with the preacher came out
andsaw his squirrel catch.
The engraving on WIlliams tombstone reads: "An affectionate husband, kind
and indulgent father, honest in all his dealings". It was thought NAncy
wrote that since she outlived WIlliam.

Notes for NANCY NORRIS:
There is a story that Nancy lost her temper over WIliam once and ripped
open the bed tick and scattered feathers to the wind to let off steam.
Nancy's tombstone says: "She was a member of the Baptist Church until her
death and died in hope of a bright immortality beyond the grave."

Notes for SALISBURY BALDWIN:
According to Aunt Clara (from Aunt Cassie I believe) a tale regarding the
elopement.
William tried to prevent Salisbury from marrying Patsy by pad-locking him
to a four-poster bed. Salisbury got permission to go tell Patsy that it was
all off. Why William objected so strenuously does not appear. For Salisbury
married when he was 27 and Patsy 31. Tharley the guard was only 15. It does
not seem plausible.

Dr. T.W. Baldwin called James "A man with fire. Usually sparks flew about
him, literally and figuratively". T.W. thought him to the bravest man he
had ever seen. He had a shoulder cap shot off during the Civil War, but he
carried on normally, in spite of lead coming from the former wounds
occasionally. He carried the arm in a sling.
