John Baldwin and Sarah Allen were definitely NOT the parents of "our"
John Baldwin who married Ann Scott. "Our" John Baldwin (who has also
been falsely called the son of Francis Baldwin and Cicely Coeburne)
was the son of John and Bridget Baldwin of the parish of Gisburn in
Yorkshire. For the correct account of the parentage of the John
Baldwin who married Ann Scott, see the account of this family on my
webpage below (just follow the links to the Baldwin account), which
includes very detailed documentation from the primary sources, and
links to actual transcripts of many of them. (The proof that the
elder John's wife was in fact named Bridget is a very recent discovery
that I have not yet added to this page.)
