Grayce, You are right about Pres. Richard Nixon descending from a Baldwin.
Of the three brothers I mentioned in the previous message John, Francis and
Thomas. President Nixon's ancestor was John. One of John's granddaughter
married a Milhous and in the 8th generation from John Baldwin, Hannah
Milhous b. Mar 7, 1885 married Francis Anthony Nixon and President Richard
Milhous Nixon was born Jan. 13, 1913. John married into a Quaker family and
you can find info about John in the Quaker files.
Becky, I descend from Benjamin Baldwin brother to your Francis, so haven't
done much research about your Fielding, but sometimes the census takers make
mistakes. Evidently your Fielding did not die young, his descendents are
his testimony. If I can help anyother way, let me know. Francis Baldwin's
baptism was April 20, 1660 at the St. Mary's Parish Church Swerford, Oxon
and he is your immigrant ancestor. His parents were William and Mary
Baldwin. I would like to find other info about his parents in England.
Does anyone happen to know? Joy Baldwin
