Hello to all you Baldwin cousins,
Reading through all the Baldwin Brother messages was interesting and I
wish I could find some of my line and Iam writing to see if any of you
have come across my line. I will try to write it in a nutshell.
Deacon George Baldwin, son of John Baldwin Sr. of Milford and Mary
Bruen.
Deacon George m. Deborah Rose, 1688..
son, Noah Baldwin, m. Rebecca Frisbee, 1732.
son, Ebenezer, b.1741, m. Lydia Foote 1771.
son, Ebenezer m. Rebecca Higby 1793.
At this point C.C. Baldwin lost track of this Ebenezer and I think I
have picked up the line but I would appreciate any tidbits you might
have come across. Here goes!
Ebenezer and Rebecca (Higby) move to Turin, Lewis County, New York
somewhere between 1798-1805. Salt Lake has some land docs of Ebenezer
selling his property in Middletown, New York and buying property in
Turin, New York. In 1806 my gg grandfather, Russell, was born in Turin.
Looks like his mother Rebecca (Higby) died when he was 7 years old.
Then Ebenezer married Mehitable Crane. At this point I know nothing
about the new wife and Ebenezer's life.
The son, Russell that I mentioned three lines up married Phoebe
Satterlee, 1836 in Illinois.
son, Horace Baldwin b, 1837, Wiota, Lafayette Co., Wisc.
There is more if any of you are researching this line.
Lewis County Historical Society does have this Baldwin line so I feel
safe in that and the land records in Salt Lake I feel secure about. Now
I am looking for anything between the lines that maybe one of you have
run across. I am finding that New York is a hard state to find
information from.
If you have read to this point, I thank you.
Looking forward to any response.
