I really know nothin gof this Baldwin line. I guess i'll explain a
little further.
The house we own was built in 1907 and the woman who lived here (until
the 60's when she passed away) had a collection of encyclopedias (we are
the 3rd owners, my husbands grandparents bought it from the estate and
along with it came some of the original owners possessions including a
book shelf full of old books)
Within the encyclopedias are newspaper clippings, some as early as 1916
and as late as 1960. Mrs. Beltz had clipped things from the newspaper
and filed them respectively in the encyclopedia where they belonged.
I was going through the newspapers yesterday and looking to find a way
to preserve them and found the one with the article on Albert Henry
Woolson, the last living Union Soldier. It had a fairly detailed account
of his family and ancestry and I thought that if anyone out there was
his decendant, they may appreciate having a copy of the article.
So.. that is where I am with that :) I know nothing more about him than
his mother was Caroline Baldwin, father Willard Paul Woolson. That
Carolines parents were David and Betsy McCalister Baldwin from England
and Scottland and settled in Antwerp NY in 1778.
MY Baldwin line is a huge blank as we have nothing much to go on. My
husband was born Chad Allen Baldwin in Iowa City IA in 1975. His father
is Gilbert Lee Baldwin Jr, son of Gilbert Lee Baldwin Sr and Virginia
Lemons.
That is as far as we have on this line...(my husband was adopted by his
step father)
