Hi Dawn,
That's great that your children enjoy helping you.
I've done the same thing with my son who is now 17. I
started him out when he was younger by picking out
books and giving him a list of names to look for in
the books. Or I'd ask him to find me a map of a
certain country and make a copy of it. He always loved
to have a roll of dimes for the copy machine. Now if
he goes with me, I tell him who I'd like him to look
for and what year and what county and he'll read
through microfilm. Because of helping me all these
years, he is familiar with the surnames I'm
researching and will tell me anytime he comes across
those names.
I agree with you, hope is not lost on the young!
