Hi all , Back in August, 1996, I wrote to the Kalocsa regarding records
from Pancevo-Starcevo. This is the reply I received.

I am sorry to inform you that our archive cannot send the requested birth
certificates because Starcevo & Panscona were administered by the former
German Banat Border Area "Nemetbansag hatarorvidek" (Austrian military
district through which the Banat was adminstered directly from Vienna
following its conquest from the Turks" )

Territorially (church-wise) they were in the former Csanad diocese whose
episcopal was Temesvar. Unfortunately we have no contact with the archive
located there. I will give the address of the present bishopric of
Temesvar to which you may write directly:

RO-1900 Timisoara - Cetate
Romania

Our archive contains such information from 1826 only from places in our
archdiocese's territory, which contains the former Bacs-Bodrog County and the
southern part of Pest-Pilis-Solt-Kiskun county.
