My gg grandfather, Peter Wind, lived in Rekasch before coming to the U.S. in
1906. When he came here, he left from Bremen in Germany. Was that common to travel
so far across land into another country to come to the U.S.? Anyone have any ideas
why he may have gone there instead of leaving from one of the Austrian ports on the
Adriatic?
