Hi all,
To give the discussion a more genealogical aspect, I can look
up in the following book if your ancestor has died between 1944-1948
in one of the 86 of TITO'S DEATH CAMPS:
Leidensweg der Deutschen im kommunistischen Jugoslawien, 1991-94,
Muenchen/Sindelfingen, Donauschwaebische Kulturstiftung e.V.,
Band IV, Menschenverluste - Namen und Zahlen zu Verbrechen
an den Deutschen durch das Tito-Regime in der Zeit von 1944-1948
(The Suffering of the Germans in Communist Yugoslavia, 1991-94,
Muenchen/Sindelfingen, Donauschwaebische Kulturstiftung e.V.,
Vol. IV., Human Losses - Names and Numbers to the Crimes on
Germans Committed by the Tito Regime between 1944 and 1948)
Helmut
Following "TITO'S FIRST TEN" with places and numbers of death
according to the mentioned book, others estimate the numbers higher:
1. RUDOLFSGNAD / Banat 11.000
2. GAKOWA / Batchka 8.500
3. JAREK / Batchka 7.000
4. MOLIDORF / Banat 3.000
5. KRUSCHIWL / Batchka 2.800
6. MITROWITZ / Syrmien 2.000
