Need to pick someone's brain...

A friend ask me if I could find out the possible orgin or nationality of
the following name or names
POLINSKY or POLENSKY or PCHOLINSKI (Surname)
SZKMENOK or SCZMENK (surname)
MARSHKA (given name--English translation is Mary, or Maria)

I know it isn't Slovenian because Mary or Maria in Slovenian is Marija

Can anybody help me to direct my friend.
