"Schaljo" is one of the surnames in my Wiener ancestral lines from
Kleinjetscha. The original country of the Schaljos was not given. I have
been wondering whether the name could have been Germanized from a French
original-- perhaps from something like "Chailleau" (invented). Do you
know?
