Last September, I wrote to Peter Krier of the Billed HOG for information
about my grand mother's family (Mager, Welter), trying to bridge the gap
between the ca. 1850 cutoff of the LDS microfilms and our own family
information. I also wrote to Peter Landgraf of the Gyülvesz HOG for
information about the village in which my grandfather (Wiener) was born
and in which my mother spent part of her childhood. Peter Krier recently
responded that he was still busy assembling information, but that there
were Welters and a few Magers that he knew of from Billed. No response
from Peter Landgraf.

My impression is that they are preoccupied with communicating with the
people who have left Banat since WWII, and that answering the questions
of the descendants of early 20th century emigrants is of lower priority.
I wrote in German (edited by my wife, a native speaker), and I believe
that inquiries in English will be even less likely to be answered.
