Hi all.

I have just received an exciting and intriguing piece of information from
the parish church in Semlin. The information is as follows:

1884.9.XI Ivan SCHPODNJAK, from Mitrovica, widower, 44 years old, and Miss
Suzana KAUS, 17 years old, are married. Witness: Josip BRAUN and Ivan
SCHNEIDER, priest Vilim Korajec.

Suzana is niece of the first lady Ivan SCHPODNJAK: Marija SCHNEIDER, d.
7.V.1884, 44 years old.

I've gotten used to the age differences between bride and groom, but is it
unusual for someone to have married their widowed uncle?

Just wiondering if anyone else has run across this before!
