Hi all,

I am researching the town of Showe (now Ravno Selo) in Batschka.
Specifically I am looking for the surnames Strung and Fechter. My
Grandparents Joseph and Theresa (Fechter) Strung immigrated to Canada from
Showe in the 1930s. My Grandfather can trace our history back to his
Great-granfather Daniel Strung. Daniel had seven siblings, Frederick,
Henry, Margaret, Jacob, Philip, Stefan, Michael. I am not sure when Daniel
was born but I think it was mid 1800s. I know very little about the Fechter
side of the family.

Also I am currently a second year university history student and am also
interested in the Canadian immigration experiences of Donauschwaben people.
If you are interested in contributing to this study, please email me
personally and I can send you a copy of the questionnaire which I am using
in my research. Alternatively any stories or anecdotes are also greatly
appreciated.
