Good Morning Carol,
Yor inquiry is most welcome. The von Mueller connection has been one of my
biggest challenges and for others in my family doing this research.
Anecdotal history has it that my g-grandmother's Father was a von Mueller
who at some point in time decided that he no longer wished to participate in
the wars occuring in the German States and so decided to leave (desert?) the
military and traveled to Eastern Europe where the Emporer of Austria-Hungary
had opened land invarious parts esp. what we know today as Yugoslavia
(primarily Croata, Serbia, etc.).
There were several regions in this area but the ones I've been concentrating
on are the Bataschka and Banat in what is now within Crotia, Serbia and
Symerien.
It is further related that in an attempt to disguise himself, he changed his
name to EGI. From data acquired The villages/cities involved were Futok,
Kukujevic, Kraljevina and Kusnia. This is where EGI/von Mueller, Heberling
and Heger all merge until their immigration to the US c1905 - 1910.
It should also be of note that the name von Mueller is extremly rare in
Europe, There are only five families today who reflect the name in Germany
today.
After all that I must conclude by saying, Yes, Iam interested in your info
as if it doesn't lead anywhere today it may open the possibility tomorrow.
THANKS AGAIN !
Frank Heger
Owosso, MI.
PS. I am forwarding this message to a few others who have interest and
perhaps some other information will become available.
